Description of the house

The house was carefully renovated in 2018/2019. It is a house with character: the real Swedish charm. Some beautiful old details are still visible after the renovation. The house is located along a little road on the countryside in an exceptionally quiet part of Småland in southern Sweden, near the lake Åsnen.

The lake Åsnen, which is about 1 km from the house. is one of biggest fishing-lakes in the South of Sweden. Here you can fish pike, perch, pike-perch and eel. For fishing you need permission in the form of a fishing license. A boat can be rented. On the campsite Kärrasand (1km away) there is a sandy beach where you can swim.

The house is located along side a small country road, where there’s hardly any traffic. You can enjoy tranquility and the natural life directly around and near the house. From the house you can make beautiful walks in the neighborhood. You can rent a bike aswell in Urshult (5 km away) and this way can you explore the area. As an alternative you could inspect and tour the area by car or you can take a boat and go out on Lake Åsnen naturally.

The house is located near the towns of Urshult and Tingsryd (Township Tingsryd) and about 10 km away from Åsnen National Park. Åsnen National Park is the 30th national park in Sweden, opened in 2018. There is a lot to discover at the park either by boat or canoe. Of course, are hiking and cycling in Åsnen National Park as well very popular.

In the district around lake Åsnen there are numerous hiking trails, bathing areas, beautiful nature and barbecues places (where you can find chopped wood) and some typical Swedish shops where you can buy fruit and vegetables, cheese, fish or honey directly from own production. There’s a lot to discover, to experience, to relax and, above all, to enjoy. Nearby there are enough opportunities for shopping. The bakery in Urshult guarantees for instance fresh rolls and delicious cakes. If you want it all a bit bigger and a bit more extensive; you can choose to visit Växjö-city (which is approx. 50 km away) or Älmhult-city, the birthplace of IKEA. (which is also approx. 50 km away) .

The ground floor :

• A well equipped kitchen with an electric stove with 4 plates, a microwave, a dishwasher, an electric and a wood-fired oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, a coffee maker, an electric kettle and there is an extensive range of crockery aswell.

• A cozy living room with a sofa and armchairs. The sofa contains a bed for 2 persons and in the room is some typical Swedish furniture. 

• A flat screen TV (with Swedish channels)

• Internet (WiFi-connection) throughout the entire cottage.

• The water is coming from an own well.

• A tiled bathroom with a sink, a shower and a toilet. In this room is the washing machine.

• Note: The ceiling on the first floor is about 2 m high.

Upstairs:

• Bedroom 1 with a Boxspring double bed ( new mattrasses ensure a good night's sleep)

• A cot for the smallest children is also available.

• Bedroom 2 with a Boxspring double bed (new mattresses ensure a good night sleep).

• On the whole second floor there is a genuine old wooden floor

Additionals:

Of course is garden furniture available just like a barbecue.
