Feel like in paradise on the island of Igelön in the lake Åsnen. Igelön is an island paradise in the lake Åsnen and offers a real natural experience. A quiet and sunny location, surrounded by meadows and fruit trees, sheep. Wildlive, mushrooms and berries.
Igelön is a private island and is only accessible to tenants who rent a cottage on the island.
On the island Igelön we rent out also the objects S11U Igelön and S20U Äppelbo and S24U Toppstugan and S25U Astas Hus
Hiking in the woods or gathering berries and mushrooms is an experience. Take a walk on the island and walk along the stone walls and discover the wilderness of the island and pick fruits from the more than 200 fruit trees of the island. Make yourself familiar with the fauna of the island: there are cranes, herons, wild animals, birds, deer, foxes, mink. There is a sauna on the island, swimming is possible on the east and west side. The variety of nature and holiday opportunities makes the island such a fantastic destination. On the westside of the island there is a nice barbecue place on the lake, here you also have the opportunity to bath and use the sauna. Of course, you can also make a canoe tour on the lake or go by rowingboat or motorboat.
The island lies in the lake Åsnen. Åsnen is one of the largest and vast lakes in southern Sweden, with striking characteristics such as the many islands, the countless bays and the small beaches. Those special features give the lake a remarkable and varied appearance. It is unmistakably a unique and exceptional nature reserve with a rich and diverse flora and fauna. The area around Lake Åsnen is considered the southernmost wilderness in Sweden and it is a true paradise for anglers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, nature lovers and for people who appreciate peace, space and quiet. For the fishing enthusiasts: there is sufficient pike, perch, zander and eel in Åsnen. Within reach of Lake Åsnen one can enjoy an active and/or a relaxing holiday. The Åsnen National Park was officially opened in the year 2018, as a part of the Åsnen region.
Ulfs Backe consists of two parts: The cottage and an annex, which can be rented when extra beds needed.
The boat policy on the island
FAQ Q: How do we get to the island? A: The owner of the house will come and get you with his boat on arrival (see the picture below) and will transport you back to the mainland when you leave, you get a rowingboat for free but only for the transport from and to the island.

Q: Is there a motorboat? A: Yes, a motorboat can be rented
Q: Can we park the car on the mainland A: Yes, it is quiet at the end of the road where the ferry leaves.
Description of the house Ulfs Backe is a holiday home in a fantastic location. The house is 50 square meters. The house is located high on the hillside and has a beautiful view over the Lake Åsnen, which is only 100 meters from the house. At the house you can enjoy the evening sun and the setting sun over the lake Åsnen.
